If you happen to be in Samoa in the summer, during the month of June more specifically, you can catch the Independence Days Celebrations, with dancing, feasting, horse racing and other sporting events. The "fautasi" race on the Saturady closest to Independence Day is really worth watching. Dozens of men row their canoes for very long distances. If you want to, you are free to take part.
